From the point of view of a potential employer, I would say that the privacy settings on my social media accounts which are all set to “public” will remain public because I use my social media accounts wisely. I mean in terms of the kind of content I publish on them and the kinds of activities I carry out on them. I will not necessarily carry out any changes on my privacy settings or on my content creation on them, except for my Twitter account which I very seldom use. I should begin to use it more often because it is a platform where I can actually get to learn a lot from other business professionals and other prominent and successful people worldwide.
I manage a WordPress blog, a Linkedin account, a YouTube channel, a Facebook account, page and messenger, an Instagram page, a WhatsApp account, a Pinterest account, a Skype account, and a Twitter account.
On my WordPress blog, I mainly showcase my writing prowess and my competencies in the area of communication and media. I do this as well on my Facebook and Instagram profiles and pages, but together with some showcasing of my Christian faith/values, my life adventures and travels, and my social life with acquaintances, friends and family. I do not drink alcohol, neither do I go clubbing or go to any other kind of gathering that photos of it being seen on my profile might be misinterpreted by or appear unpleasing to potential employers. I use the LinkedIn platform majorly because it’s a platform where I can showcase my professional development, activities and experiences, and because it allows me to be discovered by potential employers in the business world. My calling and messaging social media accounts such as WhatsApp, Skype and Facebook messenger are those I use for instant messaging and video calling of classmates or project partners, friends and family. My Skype account also comes in very handy for professional collaboration projects as well. More so, the Pinterest social media platform is basically where I enjoy visiting from time to time to view graphics in my areas of interest or on subjects that I’m carrying out researches on. In terms of my YouTube channel, I haven't exactly began to publish content on it but I have began setting up the channel as a commercial channel and have also began creating content for publication there; I will soon launch the channel.
Furthermore, on my social media platforms, I also join and follow some groups and hashtags in my areas of interest, both professionally and socially. The fact that I can showcase both my professional and social activities on most of the social media platforms I use is one of the reasons why I use them. However, what could convince me to use other social media platforms is if there is a clear distinction between the professional and social life of users. A platform like LinkedIn allows its users to share solely about their professional experiences, but I think that a platform that would allow for both professional and social aspects of a user’s life in different tabs would be the most ideal social media platform for me to be on.

Through my social media accounts, a potential employer can get to see both the professional and social facets of my life. If I were an employer who browses through my social media accounts while screening job candidates, I would hire me, as my social media accounts, especially my LinkedIn profile, portray some of the added values I have to offer companies.
