Team Charter

Team Leader: Chidinma Opara; Team members: Samantha Upreti and Sebastien Vandaele
TMD Group 7 Team 5

- 1.4. Team Norms

I. Communication:

- The team will communicate through their Artevelde mail and WhatsApp Groups.

- All members are responsible for consistent frequency in communication in these group chats.

- The team communication manager is responsible for creating and keeping order in these group chats.

- All members should convey their ideas and information intelligibly.

- No language other than English Language should be used for communication here.

II. Distribution of Tasks and Participation:

- Every team member is assigned to specific tasks for each team project.

- Every team member should actively participate in every team project.

- Every team member should have made an equal amount of input to the team at the end of the year.

- Every member should participate in decision making and problem solving. Everyone ought to have something to bring to the table.

- Researches should be carried out individually and also collectively.

III. Quality of Work:

- Teamwork should always be efficiently and excellently done.

- Team performance should be on par throughout the year.

- Nonchalance should not be seen in team members’ work.

- Every task should be properly re-examined by the project manager before submission.

IV. Scheduling and Establishing Deadlines:

- The project manager of every team project should set a one-week-ahead deadline for every team project.

- The team should respect team members’ time schedules while setting up meetings but should still strictly stick to deadlines.

- When faced with numerous tasks, every team member should ensure he/she doesn’t leave assignments piled up as the deadlines could take us unawares if we do so.

V. Handling Disagreements and Conflicts Within the Team:

- When a problem arises, team members should talk it out and try to find a substantial solution and ensure they do so with respect towards one another.

- Verbal abuse will not be tolerated.

- Speaking in any other language other than English Language during conflicts is prohibited.

- Team members should avoid hidden agendas as these are the high-level causes of disagreements and conflicts in teams.

1.5.1. Deviation from Team Norms:

In case of deviation from the team charter norms:

1. Meeting with the complete group face-to-face to establish the area of concern. The purpose of the meeting is to determine which of the BARS factors is resulting in poor performance and to address the underlying issue.

2. The project manager writes down a verbal reminder of the requirements of the team charter and a clear statement of which requirement is not being met. All team members will receive this writing by Artevelde mail and team members will remedy their behaviour accordingly. The project manager saves this mail as documentation. If any team members were illegally absent during the meeting, they need to respond to the writing by Artevelde mail within 2 working days.

3. If the issue is not remedied: written notice by Artevelde mail to the individual(s), including the statement of which team charter is not being met with copies mailed to the TMD coach and other appropriate lecturers (according to the teamwork involved) + to all other team members.

4. Last chance agreement: mailing + stating which specific requirements still have not been met by the team member(s). Copies sent to TMD coach and lecturer.

5. Written recommendation for dismissal of the team member(s) if the last chance agreement is not adhered to, sent to the lecturer.

6. The lecturer will confirm a zero score for the project for these team members.
